This Privacy Policy explains how SHINY & DASH CAR WASH LTD handles information in connection with Shiny Wash Care, the Android application distributed under the package name uk.co.shinyclean.detail.careline.rinsekit. It applies to the app itself and to the ways the app allows you to reach the company.

Shiny Wash Care is a work-order tracking aid for a small automotive repair and maintenance shop. Shop staff use it to record repair work orders, line items for parts, labour and operations, the repair status flow, and a fixed inspection checklist.

The core workflow runs on the Android device. The app does not require an account, does not synchronise with a cloud service, and does not send local work order content to the developer automatically.

Work Order Data Stored on Your Device

The app stores repair work orders locally in its own storage on the Android device. A work order can hold vehicle, customer complaint, authorisation and estimate details, together with line items covering the operation, part number, hours, costs, item status and technician notes. This local content is not automatically transmitted to the developer as part of the core workflow, and no copy of it is held on company servers.

Alongside that, the app keeps its own state: settings and display preferences, and interface details such as the saved list order. This is the app's own configuration rather than a record of your work, and it stays on the device with the rest of the app's storage.

The app does not require personal identity information to operate. Because work orders are written by staff, any local content may contain personal information where a user chooses to type or attach it, and that content remains the user's own material on the device.

Deleting Local Data and How Long It Is Kept

Individual work orders can be removed within the app, and local app data can be cleared from within the app as well. Deleting is a local action: it removes the content from the app's storage on the device and does not involve the developer.

Local work order data and the app's own settings remain on the device until they are deleted in the app, until local app data is cleared, or until the application is uninstalled. Android device settings can also be used to clear the app's stored data or to remove the application entirely. Nothing is retained by the company, because nothing of this kind reaches the company.

Permissions the App Declares

The app declares a single Android permission, android.permission.INTERNET. That permission is declared by the framework the app is built with, and the app itself makes no network requests. No other Android permission is declared by the application.

Contact Actions and External Services

The app can open a browser to the company website and can open an email client, but only when a user selects one of those actions. Nothing of this kind happens on its own, and the app does not pass local work order content to those services by itself. External services reached this way operate under their own privacy practices.

Where a user writes to the company by email, the company receives the email address the message is sent from and whatever the message contains. That is direct correspondence with the company and is separate from the work order content kept in the app on the device.

What the App Does Not Include

The application does not provide the following, and none of them forms part of how the app works.

The app also works without cloud synchronisation and without backend storage, so work order content is not transmitted to or held on a company server as part of the core workflow.

  • Login or account registration
  • Advertising
  • Analytics
  • Tracking
  • Payment processing
  • Subscriptions
  • Monetisation features
  • Third-party service SDKs that receive app data

Important Use Notice

The figures and results shown in the app rest entirely on what shop staff enter. Estimate totals are user-entered figures and are not a quotation, an invoice or a statement of final charges.

The checklist records pass, fail or not-applicable results entered by staff. It is not a vehicle safety inspection and it is not a roadworthiness assessment.

The app stores its data locally on this device only. It records and tracks repair work orders entered by shop staff; its costs and estimate totals are user-entered figures to be checked, and estimated charges are not a quotation.

Security

Reasonable measures are used to support the integrity of the application. Local app content stays in the application's own storage on the device and is not held on company servers.

Users remain responsible for securing their own device and for controlling who has access to the app and to the device it runs on. No method of electronic storage or transmission can guarantee complete security.

UK and EEA Data Rights

Users in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area may have rights under applicable data protection legislation, such as access, correction, deletion and restriction of processing, where those rights apply in the circumstances and to the extent the law provides. Whether they are available depends on whether personal data is being processed by the company.

The company does not receive work order content from the app, so requests of this kind will usually concern correspondence a user has sent to the company. Data held locally in the app can generally be managed on the device, deleted within the app, or removed by clearing local app data or uninstalling the application. Users may contact the company using the details set out below.

Children's Privacy (13+)

The app is intended for users aged 13 and above and is not directed to children under 13. The company does not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If such information is identified, reasonable steps will be taken to delete it or otherwise address the situation.

Changes to This Policy

This policy may be revised where the app or the company's practices change. The revision date shown with this policy is updated whenever a change is made, and the current version is the one that applies.
